Animation Mentor The Online Animation School on Forbes.com

Yesterday I was interviewed about my journey from animator to entrepreneur for Forbes.com! I had a blast being able to represent our animation school to a totally different audience. I'm stoked to be able to share more about the business side of what we do as that is now my big journey and area of growth over the last several years. WOOT!

Click here to view the piece. We interviewed for about 30 minutes and somehow they were able to pick all the parts where I wasn't bouncing off the walls. Ha ha!

DISCLAIMER: I was not the designer for Nemo and Boo, rather I was the character developer for those characters.

  6. The part I'm most stoked about for me is that I wasn't nervous at all. I was flying high from an awesome weekend and when I sat down I was fully ready to rock and roll. Normally I get butterflies with these types of things and I hadn't done a video "interview" in quite a while of this magnatude. I guess doing the video news each week really helps. WOOT!!! :)

  7. That's a very sweet video there; although you were really... mmm... static in this video. Not the Bobby we're used to... ;-)

74% growth compared to the 12% of the industry? I'm not surprised: I've studied in several other online educational systems and, well,... do it well.... and they will come.

Congrats Bobby and I'm waiting to see what AM is going to do next.

    Cheers,

    Charles

    Cheers!

  14. You three really have made learning fun for all of us, Bobby. AM is the one of the best (if not the best) community to learn in. Yes, it's very much a community. I can't thank you all enough for it.

Also, Can't wait to start Class 1 in the summer and to meet you and the rest of the AM crew at the BBQ. :)

  19. Thanks again! You guys rule!

For the record. A character designed actually sits down and designs what they character LOOKS like on paper. A character developer designs how the character MOVES, creates the face/hand shapes and goes to dailies to make sure that character is animated consistently throughout the film. Hope that helps!
