Yesterday I was interviewed about my journey from animator to entrepreneur for Forbes.com! I had a blast being able to represent our animation school to a totally different audience. I'm stoked to be able to share more about the business side of what we do as that is now my big journey and area of growth over the last several years. WOOT!
Click here to view the piece. We interviewed for about 30 minutes and somehow they were able to pick all the parts where I wasn't bouncing off the walls. Ha ha!
DISCLAIMER: I was not the designer for Nemo and Boo, rather I was the character developer for those characters.
Congratulations. That is a well put together piece. You should be proud of your accomplishments. Truly inspirational.
ReplyDeleteRock on!

Thanks Dhar!!! It was a pleasure doing it. WEEEE!
ReplyDeleteAwesome interview Bobby! AM continues to bring more stuff to the table with each new semester. I can never thank you guys enough for such an awesome program! =D
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!!! Awesome interview. and i agree with Jason, AM is such an amazing program, theres not enough words to describe how thankful I am for it. :)
ReplyDeleteBobby! This is HUGE!! With that kind of exposure from Forbes, AM will surely reach new heights!! Congrats man!!
ReplyDeleteThe part I'm most stoked about for me is that I wasn't nervous at all. I was flying high from an awesome weekend and when I sat down I was fully ready to rock and roll. Normally I get butterflies with these types of things and I hadn't done a video "interview" in quite a while of this magnatude. I guess doing the video news each week really helps. WOOT!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a very sweet video there; although you were really... mmm... static in this video. Not the Bobby we're used to... ;-)
ReplyDelete74% growth compared to the 12% of the industry? I'm not surprised: I've studied in several other online educational systems and, well,... do it well.... and they will come.
Congrats Bobby and I'm waiting to see what AM is going to do next.
Cheers,
Charles
Hey Bobby,
ReplyDeleteCongrats on a very Awesome interview!
I noticed your disclaimer, if you get a moment...
could you share with us the differences
between character designer vs. character developer?
Thanks Bobby... and again, Congrats!!!
Cheers!

Wow, congratulations Bobby! AM is truly unique and AMazing! I am sad the AM ride will be ending for me soon, but so thankful that I was able to attend.

ReplyDeleteSee you soon on Animation Mentor
Amazing interview, Is it about 4 min long? I kept on watching but I found myself on a garden show, haha, where's bobby?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, great things come from great people.
Superb interview bobby! You should be very proud of all that you have accomplished. It was a fun watch.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the awesomeness,
Heathz*
You three really have made learning fun for all of us, Bobby. AM is the one of the best (if not the best) community to learn in. Yes, it's very much a community. I can't thank you all enough for it.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Can't wait to start Class 1 in the summer and to meet you and the rest of the AM crew at the BBQ. :)
Congratulations Bobby! The interview was very impressive.
ReplyDeleteShawn, Carlos and you have created something so amazing. I know I speak for many when I say that we'll be forever grateful for this awesome school.
Much continued success my friend.
Eddie
Congrats Bobby! Great job on the interview. Forbes is bigtime!
ReplyDeleteTake care,
Josh
*High Five* That was an awesome interview man! Super Congrats!
ReplyDeleteYeah, you definately seemed relaxed and comfortable and that was really cool! Great job buddy!
ReplyDeleteThanks again! You guys rule!
ReplyDeleteFor the record. A character designed actually sits down and designs what they character LOOKS like on paper. A character developer designs how the character MOVES, creates the face/hand shapes and goes to dailies to make sure that character is animated consistently throughout the film. Hope that helps!
I really loved reading your blog. It was very well authored and easy to understand. Life Experience Degrees | Animated Explainer Videos
