Animation Mentor's 2nd Annual Summer BBQ
Yesterday was Animation Mentor's 2nd Annual Summer BBQ. The turn out was fantastic. I'd say there was well over 100 people there! Existing students, new students, alumni, mentors, friends, family from all over the U.S. and Canada! So cool. It was so amazing and the AM staff did a fantastic job organizing the event. it was held at Crissy Field in San Francisco right next to the Golden Gate Bridge. It is always great getting to meet people I only see via web cam! But when we do meet it's as if we've known each other forever!
We had some fun gifts to raffle off and Shawn, Carlos and myself had a blast giving them out. A big thanks to Pixar and DreamWorks for donating cool raffle schwag!
I think I talked to every person individually! If not, at least I did my best to do so. It was great hearing about everyone's enthusiasm and energy for learning animation. When we started the school I always wondered if people would make "REAL" friends, but over the last 2 1/2 years I've been blown away with all the crazy amazing friendships that have been made; and a few love connections, too! COOL!
At the end of the day I was wiped, but full of renewed energy to hit the Summer quarter with massive gusto! Tomorrow the summer quarter begins!
